On January 30, 2026, an academic exchange and co-creation workshop on improving green spaces and shared-use infrastructure was held at the University of Sciences, Hue University. The event brought together students from Hue University of Sciences High School for the Gifted, university students from various faculties, as well as lecturers and representatives of relevant professional units.
The workshop was organised using a co-design (co-creation) approach, providing an opportunity for users to directly observe the site, discuss, and propose ideas through group-based activities. Feedback focused on three main themes: missing elements at the site, actual user needs, and ideas and solutions for improving spatial quality. The results indicate that the campus currently lacks several key components, including sufficient greenery and shade, seating, outdoor study areas, stable Wi-Fi, and supporting amenities such as public drinking water, charging stations, and nighttime lighting. Participants expressed a strong desire for the campus to become a multifunctional green space that supports learning, resting, social interaction, and relaxation.
Numerous design ideas were proposed, including increasing tree planting, developing green shading structures, creating outdoor study spaces, adding seating, providing campus-wide Wi-Fi and charging stations for devices and electric vehicles, and organising seasonal decoration and community engagement activities. These small but practical improvements are expected to significantly enhance users’ learning and daily experiences.
The GreenCityLabHuế project would like to express sincere appreciation to the University for co-hosting this academic exchange and for providing favourable conditions for its implementation. The strong support of the School Board and the enthusiastic participation of students contributed to a positive and constructive atmosphere, while also providing valuable input for the GreenCityLabHuế project in its co-creation-based design process.
